Intensive Outpatient Program
Overcoming a substance use disorder (SUD) is one of the hardest things to do and frequently requires qualified professional medical assistance. In most cases, mental health issues, like depression or anxiety, accompany the dependency on drugs or alcohol. Southern Sky Recovery understands that the road to recovery is difficult and ultimately rewarding, but it is not without challenges. We can help.
After completing detox and treatment programs, one’s mind and body may be healthier, but that point along the path of recovery is precarious. Relapse is a constant threat.
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Bluffton, South Carolina may be the right level of care for you or a loved one at that point. Call Southern Sky Recovery today at 843.350.5769 or contact us online.
What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program for Addiction Treatment?
An IOP is a form of outpatient therapy and a specific level of care provided by an addiction treatment center. As the name implies, it is not a residential program and, in fact, often follows detox and completion of a residential treatment program. It provides limited structure, treatment, and accountability during the day while allowing the client some flexibility to attend to work, school, home, or community duties.
Our Bluffton intensive outpatient program is less demanding than a partial hospitalization program, typically requiring about three hours a day, three days a week. Those hours are devoted to various treatments and activities designed to aid in recovery and prevent relapse. These could include clinical behavioral therapies, like cognitive-behavioral therapy, group therapy, 12-step meetings, or even holistic therapies like meditation or music therapy.
The IOP is for individuals who have integrated coping skills into their lives and are firmly in recovery but still require additional support and care within a structured environment.

How Do I Pay for an Intensive Outpatient Program in Beaufort County?
Financial concerns are often a barrier to treatment, but many clients do not fully explore their options. Southern Sky understands that financial considerations are an essential factor in deciding where to seek treatment. We understand because our owners and many of our staff are in recovery themselves and have been there.
At Southern Sky, we accept many major insurance providers and are adding more as quickly as possible. Recent changes to state and federal law, like the Affordable Care Act, require insurance providers to cover behavioral health care.
We can also help steer you to alternative payment options and other resources, so call us today at 843.350.5769 to learn more. Do not let a perceived financial barrier keep you from the treatment you need and deserve.
