In order to be eligible, individuals must be substance free and must have completed detox if necessary.
The application process starts with an interview conducted by the house manager, who will evaluate the applicant’s readiness for sober living. Furthermore, feedback will be requested from the applicant’s referrer to better understand their involvement in previous treatment. There are no extra fees aside from the initial application.
Residents are asked to make a commitement to 14 weeks, the duration of their collaboritve treatment program.
Residents follow a structured daily routine that encourages personal growth and community building. The day begins with breakfast, followed by treatment services associated with the resident’s PHP or IOP program. House meetings take place twice a week, and three recovery-based community support meetings are held weekly. In addition to formal recovery efforts, there are weekly outings organized, including recreational activities and voluntary community service, which further help build a sense of purpose and belonging.
In order to maintain a safe and organized environment, curfews are in place. Residents are required to be back in the house by 10:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 PM on weekends. This policy is intended to promote accountability and cultivate a strong sense of community within the home.
Southern Sky Recovery integrates the treatment program with the sober living experience, ensuring that residents have access to community resources that support their recovery. The house staff, certified as peer recovery specialists, maintain an 8:1 resident-to-staff ratio, ensuring individualized attention and care. Robust case management services are also available to assist residents with their transition back into independent living, ensuring a smooth and supported return to everyday life.
After the first month of residency, residents are allowed to have visitors. These visits are carefully planned to minimize any risks to the individual’s recovery. Daily check-ins help residents stay on track with their recovery goals, while house meetings and staff support maintain a positive and forward-looking atmosphere.
